I recently got a 'tiel named Alcatraz Capone. He's sitting in one of his cages, the onion dome, beside the computer right now.
Our dogs Lupa and Nipper are so much fun. Lupa and Nipper have so many adventures big and small. This blog tells about their adventures.

Lupa Goes to School
For a presentation at school I decided to bring our dog Lupa. My mom brought her in, and Lupa was a hit. I finished my presentation and walked Lupa around the classroom. She wimpered with what must have been a mix of joy and fear. The reason I say joy too is because she loves kids. I let her off the leash for a while to explore the classroom. She sniffed people's hands and walked around the room. Lupa was especially curious about the trash can. When Lupa had to go, the class aplauded. In all, it was really fun to have Lupa at school, even if it was just for a few minutes.

Lupa why did you just yelp?
One day we went on a trail in the woods. There were tons of berries along the sides of the trail. There were rosehip, rasberries, and other berries. After a while of walking on the trail it got really muddy. Bits, Lupa, and Nipper all just walked straight through it. We started walking on another branch of the trail. The branch of the trail that we were on led to a lake. Bits ran right in, chasing sticks which we threw for him. Nipper ran in after him trying to wrestle the sticks he caught out of his mouth. Lupa walked in following a rosehip which I threw out into the water for her to get. Once her legs were wet she came back out without getting the berry I threw into the water. She loves berries. That just shows how much she hates water. After a while we walked back. Lupa ran into the trees to explore while we were making our way around the mud. We heard her yelp. We froze. We called to her hoping she hadn't run into a big animal like a moose or a bear. She darted out of the trees and we realized that she must have run into a berry plant since they have thorns. We thought she had learned a lesson about running into the trees and how she might encounter something unpleasent. She didn't learn anything from it. The next chance she got ,which was less than a minute or so later, she darted back into the trees to explore. Once we got to a clearing close to the end of the trail we threw them sticks and my brother threw rosehip berries into the air for Lupa to catch. She caught one right in her mouth, but the other ones just bounced off of her snout. It was a great trip, including stick throwing much to Nipper's delight and a lake to swim in which Bits enjoyed very much.

To the Lake
One day we decided to find a new trail. We decided that it would be fun to go on this trail that went beside a lake. When we got onto the trail we found out that it was a beautiful trail. Fireweed was growing everywhere (Fireweed is a flower that grows here in Alaska). It was great. We let the dogs off their leashes so they could explore. Eventually, we got to a part where you could see the lake. Bits immediately decided that he wanted to go for a swim. The girls jumped in and pretty much just jumped back out. All in all, it was a great trip.

Traveling Dogs
Our dogs traveled with us from our old house in Tennessee to our new house in Alaska. We pulled a camper trailer to stay in at night. It became our house on wheels. The dogs loved all the new things to see and smell. They learned that the grass in Montana is sweet. Now they're hooked on grass. We went to lots of places together. It was lots of fun.
Having Fun at the Park
Yesterday Lupa, Nipper, and Bits came with us to the park. First we walked down a trail that led to the beach. We've had another adventure there that I'll tell you about. Well we were going down the trail to go see the dipnetters.Dipnetters are people who bring a hand held net out into the ocean and stand there trying to catch fish. Once we got there there were so many fish carcases that it was just crazy. We walked down to where we could see the dipnetters, dodging different parts of fish as we went. When we were coming back Lupa picked up a fish head in her mouth and looked at us with her innocent eyes. It was so gross but funny. She tried to get other fish heads but we wouldn't let her. Well, anyway, this time we didn't go down to see the dipnetters. We just took them towards the ocean then turned around. Then we took them to this part of the park that has a ton of sand. It's sort of like a huge sandbox except it's there naturally. Lupa showed off her acrobatic skills and Nipper just sort of sniffed around. After that we went down another trail that led to a stream. Lupa ran across these logs that led to a sort of island in the middle. Nipper ran around sniffing and Bits jumped in the water. We had a ton of fun.

Adventures at Bishop Creek
Yesterday Lupa, Nipper, and our white Lab, Bits, went with us to Bishop Creek. They love running around on the beach there. They chased tennis balls and walked around sniffing while we gathered rocks. Lupa, the acrobat of the dogs, usualy climbs up the cliffs surrounding it. Nipper chases the tennis ball and pokes it with her nose trying to get it to go in the mud flats. Mud flats are where the tide has come out and there is just mud. Bits just walks around with a tennis ball in his mouth. They've been loving Alaska so far. There are so many new smells for them and they just love it.

Blue Heelers are beautiful dogs that love family and work. They were bred to herd cattle so they are high energy. They love going for walks, chasing tennis balls, and other active things. They bond with their family and love and protect them. Our two blue heelers Nipper and Lupa are very sweet. Nipper is very protective and always alert. Lupa is easily distracted though. She seems to think that she's a kid. When Lupa goes for a ride in the car she sits in the seat as if she were a human. Nipper is the alpha and is quite good at it. Blue Heelers are just awesome.
Labs are a goofy breed of dog. They love swimming. Bits, our Lab, has tried to jump into the ocean when the waves were rolling in. He'll jump into any water if you give him a chance. Labs are really sweet, though. They love their family.
