Traveling Dogs

Our dogs traveled with us from our old house in Tennessee to our new house in Alaska. We pulled a camper trailer to stay in at night. It became our house on wheels. The dogs loved all the new things to see and smell. They learned that the grass in Montana is sweet. Now they're hooked on grass. We went to lots of places together. It was lots of fun.

Having Fun at the Park

Yesterday Lupa, Nipper, and Bits came with us to the park. First we walked down a trail that led to the beach. We've had another adventure there that I'll tell you about. Well we were going down the trail to go see the dipnetters.Dipnetters are people who bring a hand held net out into the ocean and stand there trying to catch fish. Once we got there there were so many fish carcases that it was just crazy. We walked down to where we could see the dipnetters, dodging different parts of fish as we went. When we were coming back Lupa picked up a fish head in her mouth and looked at us with her innocent eyes. It was so gross but funny. She tried to get other fish heads but we wouldn't let her. Well, anyway, this time we didn't go down to see the dipnetters. We just took them towards the ocean then turned around. Then we took them to this part of the park that has a ton of sand. It's sort of like a huge sandbox except it's there naturally. Lupa showed off her acrobatic skills and Nipper just sort of sniffed around. After that we went down another trail that led to a stream. Lupa ran across these logs that led to a sort of island in the middle. Nipper ran around sniffing and Bits jumped in the water. We had a ton of fun.

Adventures at Bishop Creek

Yesterday Lupa, Nipper, and our white Lab, Bits, went with us to Bishop Creek. They love running around on the beach there. They chased tennis balls and walked around sniffing while we gathered rocks. Lupa, the acrobat of the dogs, usualy climbs up the cliffs surrounding it. Nipper chases the tennis ball and pokes it with her nose trying to get it to go in the mud flats. Mud flats are where the tide has come out and there is just mud. Bits just walks around with a tennis ball in his mouth. They've been loving Alaska so far. There are so many new smells for them and they just love it.

Blue Heelers are beautiful dogs that love family and work. They were bred to herd cattle so they are high energy. They love going for walks, chasing tennis balls, and other active things. They bond with their family and love and protect them. Our two blue heelers Nipper and Lupa are very sweet. Nipper is very protective and always alert. Lupa is easily distracted though. She seems to think that she's a kid. When Lupa goes for a ride in the car she sits in the seat as if she were a human. Nipper is the alpha and is quite good at it. Blue Heelers are just awesome.
Labs are a goofy breed of dog. They love swimming. Bits, our Lab, has tried to jump into the ocean when the waves were rolling in. He'll jump into any water if you give him a chance. Labs are really sweet, though. They love their family.
